After They Weren’t Famous explores the lives of individuals who committed themselves fully to a dream career, only to fall short of making it a reality. For me, that dream was football. From the age of five until 21, I poured everything into becoming a professional footballer. Like many, I didn’t make it.

Today, more former athletes are speaking openly about the emotional toll that retirement can take—especially on mental health. And if those who reached the very top struggle to redefine themselves after sport, what about those of us who never made it that far?

This platform exists to explore that question. It's a space for honest conversations about identity, purpose, and resilience in the aftermath of a dream unfulfilled—and how we begin to build something meaningful beyond it.
